A CGA scholarship fund was first established in 1989. Generally, one or more scholarships of $1000 are awarded annually. Scholarship applications are due by March 15th of each year.
At least one scholarship is awarded to a recipient who demonstrates an interest in some facet of groundwater technology. Additional scholarships may be awarded to individuals pursuing other fields of study provided applicants have a family affiliation with a CGA member (including employees of business members). A Sheryl Kratz Memorial Scholarship may also be awarded to a woman pursuing higher education. Click here to donate to the CGA scholarship fund. |

Krista Guardino was awarded the Sheryl Kratz Memorial Scholarship. In the fall Krista will be attending the University of California, Berkeley majoring in International Area Studies with a minor in Economics. Awards and recognition received in high school included placing in the top 10 at competitive debate tournaments with a first place award as the Persuasive Speaker at the National Tournament. Hobbies include cooking, public speaking and competitive debate. Krista comes from a long line of CGA members. Her great-grandfather Joe Guardino was president of CGA and her older brother, Augie, recently completed his term as CGA President. On her future plans Krista said “I want to travel and learn more about how economies can be stimulated, especially by investment. Many social problems, like water shortages, can be solved with outside investment. I would like to work within this investment sector of international economy.”

Samuel Moffitt was awarded the CGA Water Scholarship. In the fall Samuel will be attending the University of California, Davis majoring in Environmental Science. Extracurricular activities and clubs in high school included the California Scholarship Federation, Academic Decathlon, Adventure Club, Boy Scouts of America and Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts. Samuel’s father Tom Moffitt is a past CGA Manufacturer/Supplier President. On his future plans Samuel said, “During college I hope to explore different fields in environmental science and natural resources to find out which one is the right one for me. A balance of in-class and field work would greatly benefit my education, and I want to participate in research to expand my knowledge of the sciences. I enjoy this field because it enables me to give back to my community as well as help to solve important problems.”
